The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith (UAFS) is among the select few to be approved to participate in the Community College of the Air Force’s (CCAF) General Education Mobile (GEM) program.
GEM offers General Education courses to meet CCAF associate in applied science (AAS) degree requirements. These courses are delivered in an online format so Airmen and Guardians can complete the courses they need to complete their degree from any location.
Airmen and Guardians who participate in GEM through UAFS will apply for admission through the university, enroll in courses, and, upon successful completion of coursework, order their UAFS transcripts be sent to CCAF so that course credits can be applied to their CCAF degree.
The Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC) serves as the primary hub for the GEM program. Airmen and Guardians can view approved GEM courses and learn how to register for courses through this website.
