Programs and Resources

• Concurrent students, faculty, and staff are not eligible for counseling through the Student Counseling Center.
• Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; the center closes for lunch, and the final appointment begins at 4 p.m.
• For an after-hours emergency, call 800-542-1031. The local non-crisis Warmline is 479-452-6655.

• Services include cleanings, periodontal scaling, exams, oral cancer screening, radiographs, fluoride or SDF treatments, sealants, local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, and oral-health counseling.
• Appointments are three hours long, and more than one appointment may be required.
• Published fees include $40 for adults, $20 for children, $25 for senior citizens and UAFS students, and $15 per tooth for sealants.

• Facilities include a 35-foot climbing wall, a 15-foot bouldering wall, strength and cardiovascular equipment, two basketball courts, two fitness studios, and a walking and jogging track.
• Programs include group fitness, intramural sports, sport clubs, and additional recreational opportunities.

• TRIO STEM services include tutoring and test preparation, supplemental advising, individual coaching, workshops, cultural enrichment, peer mentoring, and graduate-school or job-site visits.
• The program also provides access to a designated computer lab and online technology resources.

• The division supports faculty and student-information systems and researches effective student-success practices.
• The assistant provost's office is in the Business and Industry Institute, Room 103B.

• The Veterans Resource Center is in the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, Room 120.
• The Veterans Services Coordinator, Ms. Heather Chance can assist with questions about VA benefits and related programs.

• Sebastian Commons provides one-, two-, and four-bedroom apartments primarily for upper-level and married students.
• The Lion's Den primarily serves first-year students with furnished suites, community lounges, residential programming, and convenient dining.

• Fall and spring: withdrawals before classes or during the first week receive a 100% tuition refund; the second week through the 11th day receives 50%; later withdrawals receive no refund.
• Summer I and II: withdrawals before classes or during the first two days receive 100%; the third through fifth days receive 50%; later withdrawals receive no refund.
• Short-term course refunds are prorated. Noncredit course fees are not refundable after the first class meeting.

• Cards are issued by the Registrar's Office in the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, Room 222.
• A driver's license, military ID, or passport is required. The first card is free; a replacement costs $20.
• A mobile Lions ID is also available for compatible smartphones.

• Exchange students pay their normal UAFS tuition and enroll directly at the host university; housing, applicable meal costs, and fees are paid to the host.
• Exchange applicants need a minimum 2.5 GPA, and selection is competitive.
• Maymester courses generally last one to three weeks, with destinations and fees varying each year.

• Services include leadership development, student activities and organizations, first-year program support, student concerns, and the conduct process.
• The office administers the Student Code of Conduct and works with campus partners to educate students about responsibilities and university expectations.

• Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• The clinic closes for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. on full operating days.

• Regular hours are Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Scheduled activities may not interfere with general student use of the building.

• The office supports the Box Office, Campus Center Lost and Found, registered student organizations, LionHeart, and the Campus Activities Board.
• It also coordinates approval requirements for campus flyers, banners, bulletin boards, digital displays, and sidewalk chalk.

• VA education benefits do not pay for audited courses or courses that do not apply toward graduation requirements.
• Students receiving VA benefits who earn below a 2.00 term GPA are placed on probation; benefits may be suspended after consecutive semesters below 2.00.

• Supplemental academic advising
• Individual coaching in financial aid, career development, and graduate or professional school admission

• MANE Event New Student Orientation connects incoming students with Financial Aid and Veterans Benefits staff and introduces eligible benefits and campus resources.
• The Veterans Resource Center in the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, Room 120, provides a place to study, connect, and relax.
• The Student Veteran Organization supports veteran students and their dependents.

The Department of Defense reviews complaints involving:

• Recruiting and marketing practices
• Quality of education and accreditation
• Grade policies and financial issues
• Release of transcripts and student loans
• Transfer of credits and post-graduation job opportunities
• Refund or collection issues
• Changes in degree plans or requirements

Complaint process:

1. The complaint is submitted.
2. The Department of Defense and the applicable military service review the complaint.
3. The Department of Defense, military service, and institution respond.
4. The student receives the response.
5. The Department of Defense follows up.

• File a post-secondary complaint with the Department of Defense
• Submit Montgomery or Post-9/11 GI Bill feedback to Veterans Affairs

• Amenities include basic utilities, full kitchens, individual bedrooms, full-sized beds, on-site laundry, high-speed Wi-Fi, security, and volleyball and basketball courts.

• Suite options include one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans accommodating four or five residents.
• Amenities include loftable extra-long twin beds, community lounges, security features, residential programming, utilities, internet, and on-site dining with flexible meal plans.

• Lions Cash is separate from meal-plan funds and allows purchases at participating locations without carrying cash.
• Funds may be added with cash, debit card, credit card, check, or money order through the Cashier's Office.
• Parents and family members may add funds using the student's university ID number and UAFS email address.

• The Campus and Community Engagement Office in Campus Center Room 115 must approve and stamp posted materials.
• Commercial advertising is limited to community bulletin boards in the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center.
• Approved posters may be placed in Blue Zones with blue painter's tape; RotoCubes are located near the Reynolds ’ Room and breezeway.
• Balcony banners require pre-approval, may not exceed 8 feet by 8 feet, and may hang for no more than two weeks.
• Registered student organizations may use sidewalk chalk only on uncovered sidewalks; chalking is prohibited in covered areas and on brick.
