UAFS is your first step in becoming a successful imaging science healthcare professional.

The Department of Imaging Sciences offers both an Associate of Applied Science in radiography and a Bachelor of Science in Imaging Sciences - diagnostic medical sonography (DMS).

Our highly competitive radiography program is fully accredited by the Joint Review Commission on Education in Radiologic Technology. Graduates are eligible to sit for the national certification examination in radiologic technology administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Radiography is an exciting career opportunity and will provide many options for your future. It is the starting point for other careers in the field such as sonography, CT, MRI, mammography, special procedures, and radiation therapy.

Our popular B.S.I.S. degree is the perfect choice for registered radiographers who want to advance their career in diagnostic medical sonography. The program prepares you for an exciting career as a sonographer. Sonography uses the echoes from high-frequency sound waves to produce images of internal structures. This information assists the physician in diagnosing a variety of conditions and diseases. Already a registered radiography professional?
